It's right on the nose as was Jody Corcoran's on Sunday (sad to say). Members need to apply pressure here as the PLP seem frozen. That being said, there are real questions over the leadership and management that brought Labour into this mess.

That's why Gilmore has to reestablish his authority within Labour.

Indeed, but what I was getting at was that the public contempt for Cowen was such that every FF TD saw their seat was at risk for so long as he remained leader. Anyone else would have been an improvement.

For Lab TDs today there's at least a calculation to be made as to whether any likely successor to Gilmore would make things better or worse.

It definitely could be said the FG & Lab are actually worse then FF because they have seen what came before.
They had FF to learn from but have simply taken power as their turn which they most know is the opposite of what people wanted.

So what will the Junior Minister with responsibility for Primary Care be responsible for?

Fielding calls from Lord Doctor Reilly's constituents?

Carlsberg don't do ineffective, weak leaders of the smaller party in coalition governments, but if they did..

The pity for Labour was the age profile of their leader and his closest allies.

Labour in Govt was always going to be about Ministerial Pensions and positions on State or Semi State Boards post retirement.
