Why is Rumsfeld and Bush not on trial for war crimes? They knew what was happening at the time. This board I think can seem anti American but its the govt most people have a problem with, something I wanted to emphasise!...

The BBC takes a very good look at the definition of war crimes

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/1420133.stm

So if someone can be charged for the crimes their soldiers committed this can be extended to Rumsfeld cant it? Look at some of the following definitions..
    Murder
    Extermination
    Enslavement
    Deportation
    Imprisonment
    Torture
    Rape
Persecutions on political, racial and religious grounds.
Where does it say that torture was acceptable?

This is completely irrelevant and off topic, unless you would like to qualify it.

Emphsis it all you like . It will not change the fact the majority of the people of the usa have got the government that they want .

Why is Obama not on trial for War Crimes ? , same reason that all the other War Criminals of the usa are not .
Because the majority of yanks don't give a toss about the rest of the world .
It is a self centered nation that is quite happy to wallow in the blood of others

Was he ? Was it a fair trial .
His supposed partner in crime was not .
And this partner in crimes against the Kurds was the one that hung him .

If the USA went isolatist you would be begging for them to come back.

If the USA went isolationist, who would take care of it's empire?
I suppose they could use contractors to police their interests.

If they did go isolationist (something that they have never done , despite the fiction that they have) the world would be a far healthier place.

I would say its in their interest to keep the UN sweet and besides its not as if they take notice of UN resolutions is it? What Americans stand to gather in terms of financial investment in oil companies and invasions is a lot more than the measly few millions they will throw at the US Peace keeping missions. If the price of oil is kept artifically high US companies would be thrilled, more money for them ...

And not to mention they wanted to keep the minimum wage low so their corporations would benefit...

Zayd-al-ha on RT is saying that the US did not want to leave and that extreme pressure was put on the Iraqi Government, but the Iraqi Government would not grant immunity from politician because it would have meant electoral death for them and, given that there is "No war" in Iraq the US considered it was essential to have immunity from prosecution for their troops to stay.

Approximately 4,000 "military contractors" who are part of no accountable military structure will remain.

That is more or less giving a license to 4000 military contractors to go out there and commit murder but never fear its all for a better cause , oil + gas Can they be done under the rules of war under the Geneva convention by any chance?
