I guess he was in the end. RTE presenters are all self employed contractors as far as I know. If the show doesn't get another season you're toast.
Last thing he did was that dire piece of crp Saturday lunchtimes.

RTE banging on all day with negative lines about "social media" and online posting on the sad Jill Meagher case. Forgetting to mention that the police have repeatedly praised and thanked people posting online for the assistance given in solving the case.

RTE also not mentioning that Jill Meagher's husband has appealed to the News Media to leave the family in peace.

RTE is getting to be like a squeaky gate on this: not the appropriate time.

The biggest case of a prejudiced case I can think of was Mary Harney's bad words about Charlie Haughey, published in the Irish Independent, which got him off trial in relation to obstructing the McCracken Tribunal.

Face Book have posted a warning but is refusing to take down a page as requested by the police. Is the content "street gossip" or something more influential ?
