RTE chief news editor Ray Burke has clamped down on the shameless arse licking of the incoming boss.

"If RTE journalists could devote as much energy to writing copy as some of them are devoting to sending effusive tweets to the next boss, RTE News might be able to offer a better news service to the Irish people between now and September"

    Ouch.

Bit of a pigs ear made of the headlines on SixOne. Una O'Hagan reads the top story only for John Finnerty to read it again over video for the next item.

The 'coming up' segment seized-up after the corncrakes for me and hung for 30 seconds or more.

I thought Prime Time was finished for the summer. Tuned in for the last 2 minutes to see Pat Kenny presenting. Hmm...
I wonder whether the impending arrival of a new head honcho for current affairs is throwing a bit of a scare into the place?

Having failed on the Late Late Show, being a disaster on Frontline .... it's sickening to see him barge in on top of the Prime Time Team. I suppose they have get something out of him for his 600K.

Back to his roots. Didn't he start out as a presenter Today Tonight?
