Default Frank Lloyd Wright's Masterpiece "Falling Water" celebrates 75th Annversary

A house built out of a rock atop a waterfall in 1936 celebrates it’s 75th. Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece “Falling Water” stands the test of time. Hard to believe looking at the photo’s that it was designed in 36. Looks more like 70’s onward. Tribute to the genius. If you click Slate make sure to click to the last photo #9. It’s in southwestern Penn, about ninety minutes southeast of Pittsburgh, and 3h northwest of DC.

I haven't been to Fallingwater but I have been to Chicago where a lot of FLW's other best stuff is. Do not miss Oak Park.

A wonderful building, one of my favourites. However, it's famous for the extent to which bits have dropped off it at various times. An architect friend of mine who is more practically minded than aesthetically so, says it should be called "Falling Down".

Some good photos of it here -
