    from twitter

Sunday Business Post reporting internal disputes in FF over wording for children's referendum. The forces of darkness beginning to emerge!
The party will come first me thinks.

Goldhawk reporting the Jim O’Callaghan named as Legal Advisor on the FF reshuffle press release is brother of Miriam O'Callaghan. Acted for Bertie at the Mahon tribunal no less!
Expected to run for the soldiers of misery in the locals

This lot are trying to take a principled stand on the childrens referendum. I just want to make sure that we are talking about the same Fianna Fail who, when billions were sloshing around in the fake property market and they were taking in warehouses of money in stamp duty, they condemned primary school children to access their education in leaky prefab huts.

    Principled??? What WAS I thinking???

This is Fianna Fail and they just don't do principles.

Let's hope the arch Catholic wing of the party win the power struggle and
prevent the get into power at any price wing from succeeding.

Because we are talking about Fianna Fail, I am ruling out any intelligent, rational
debate on the issue in question.

Even from yourself? I smells conceit, SB...
"It is we the workers who built these palaces and cities here in Spain and in America and everywhere. We, the workers, can build others to take their place. And better ones! We are not in the least afraid of ruins. We are going to inherit the earth; there is not the slightest doubt about that. The bourgeoisie might blast and ruin its own world before it leaves the stage of history. We carry a new world here, in our hearts."

My point being, Kid, that there is no subject, regardless of how worthy it appears to others, that merits more attention than "the Party". It is always "Party First".

You know I'm no apologist for Oireland Inc.'s foremost abusers of the innocent and vulnerable, but one shouldn't let a lifetime of antipathy stop us from seeing that Paedo Fáil are being gifted survival by the other rightwing parties because of fear of something worse. If we're being honest with ourselves then our aim should be the removal of the whole architecture of political deceit, graft and privilege, and not just those idiots with the lard-coated comb-overs and ill-fitting un-laundered suits.

I whiole-heartedly agree. The problem is that a majority of the Irish people do not realise that the system in place is designed not to function in the 21st century and FF; FG and Labour have, alternately, being proving this for the last three decades. While the rest of the country has progressed to an extent, politics is frozen in time and the time is somewhere around the mid-1950s. Which explains Eamon O'Cuiv but doesn't explain why people tolerate it. It surely must be clear to almost everybody that we are at the end of the road with the present system.

no plans to return to Irish politics "in the short or medium term".
Speaking at length for the first time since leaving Irish politics after the 2011 general election, Lenihan told the Sunday Independent of his pivotal role in the massive Skolkovo project taking shape just outside Moscow. The plan is to create a vast hub of innovation and research anchored by the Skolkovo Tech University -- a Silicon Valley with more vodka, stray bears and furry hats

Default Maidir Le: Fianna Fail - The Wilderness Years

PJ not here to do the papers but this one pleases me.

Sindo has story about Chris Andrews quitting FF after being caught using fake Twitter account to slag off the party. Nice one, Chris!

If Chris had any testosterone, vision or charisma he'd be a leader himself instead of just being a limp-wristed whinger. I hate these silver spoon wimps and their sense of entitlement. S**t or get off the potty.

Like Dev junior with his Grand Old Duke Of York routine. These guys with their family names and political connections could start something new, but they're full of hot air and have zero leadership skills. Mumbling self-involved princes, the only things they're going to lead are cushy lives..

Wasn't it this sort of national stereotyping in the Sydney Morning Herald that had our Ambassador to Australia firing off missives in ire?

The Indo leading tomorrow with a story that Micheal Martin is looking for advice from old colleagues like Dermot Ahearn and Noel Dempsey.
"Lads, remember when we crashed the ship into the iceberg a couple of years back and drowned most of the passengers? Well, the fecking thing is still on the bottom of the sea. Any ideas?"
