Default Marie Collins for President ?

The selection of the 2011 presidential candidates demonstrates pretty much everything that is wrong in Irish politics. We're not looking for someone who is representing Ireland, what we see is a combination of party politics and mud wrestling... just when we need it most.

From my point of view, it's the dearth of any alternative that is a bit depressing.

And the fact that the Left can't even be bothered to select a candidate until it is too late.

    How about this woman ?

Marie has been through terrible adversity and came out of it

THE JAILING of Paul McGennis was a further landmark in the campaign over many dark years by Marie Collins. Her determination helped pull down a cover-up by Dublin’s Catholic archdiocese that had gone on for decades. This man had blighted the lives of children. The Murphy commission concluded “there is no doubt that Collins, in her often lonely campaign to show the archdiocese how it had erred in its handling of child sexual abuse cases, was instrumental in changing the archdiocese’s understanding and handling of these cases . . .”
