now politicians are borrowing from future kids incomes to preserve left wing populism in order to save those who created crisis from people's anger and everything done "to protect poor"

We're borrowing from future kids incomes and cutting services to today's kids because we've decided that those who invested in banks that were managed by crooks and clowns shouldn't have to take a loss when those banks collapsed.

Times changed, world become smaller and now oversupply of low skilled workers must get what businesses owners can afford to pay them

The average dole payment od €180 a week is not enough for a single person to live off. They have had to been in rented accommodation already to get rent allowance. There is no way anyone on that can keep a mortgage with mortgage relief , food etc and wages in no way match that. Bormotello this is not the first post I have seen from you where the posts are just off the wall. The posts themselves are disconnected from reality (not that Im saying you are with all due respect). Finally your last comment is without merit, the last few successive governments have mostly been predominantly right wing in their making so you are wrong in that aspect. Labour are now making FG look like Marxists they have gone so far to the dark side (the right that is)...

To the surprise of absolutely no-one the Centra Child Benefit booze promotion has led to a call for SW to be paid in vouchers rather than cash.

The obvious problem with paying CB in vouchers is that its not just pad to scobies. One really couldn't contemplate forcing nice people to use vouchers. Would BT even accept them?

What about other loans such as car or petrol? What about paying part of rent? What about clothing and footwear? Voucher system alone would be a bad idea, perhaps a twenty euro voucher for food and money can be used on top of it. Its an amazingly inane idea . Joan the moan come up with it? Remember the butter vouchers that were out years ago? They could be used for anything in some local shops near me ...

Interesting that just 4% are claiming for 2 or more children. When right wing commentators attack SW they usually wheel out examples of families with a lot of kids and add up every possible benefit a family like that could get.

The frontline and their nifty graphics totted up what a family in receipt of everything conceivable benefit would get one night. The first person they went to afterwards pointed out that less then 5% would been getting near it and Kenny said "well for the sake of the argument" and the next 20 minutes was spent chewing over it. Bill 'scrappage scheme' Cullen, Pat McDonagh and Jim Power all getting their bit in. Millionaires getting then hump over lone mothers

The IMF are blaming high social welfare, and not a lack of jobs, for people being unemployed

SOCIAL welfare benefits are too high in Ireland and need to be revised to encourage people back to work, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said.

The organisation warned that dole payments are high by international standards and responsible for "low exit rates" from the Live Register.

As the IMF forecast the economy to grow by just 0.5pc this year, it said that certain welfare payments should be means-tested to avoid long-term unemployment.

The organisation - one of three bodies overseeing Ireland's €64.5bn euro bailout - suggested people out of work should be willing to take jobs regardless of suitability.

"It is also important to ensure that jobseekers are willing and able to fill jobs when they become available," it said.

They obviously think the same way as Burton about the scroungers who make unemployment a lifestyle choice.

I am still furious after reading that highly insulting statement from the IMF. So much so that I emailed them yesterday afternoon and put them straight with a few home truths. If they don't reply to my email, a phone call will be in order.

I am going to have to stop reading these articles, my health is starting to suffer and my savings are long gone.
