Slashing benefits and persecuting claimants with heavy handed fraud checking may be the stuff of dreams for the rabid right, including our Minister for Social Protection, but it turns out that may not be the best way to 'incentivise' people back to work.

Maybe Burton should rethink her campaign of harassment and starvation.

The inspectors mentioned above have been busy calling numbers on those cards you see on notice boards in local supermarkets with carpenters/plumbers etc. advertising their services.
Their mothers would be so proud.

It seems the Government will go after the long-term unemployed in the next budget. A new OECD report today recommended cutting benefits for them and also linking welfare payments to participation in training schemes. How long before Ireland is at the state of Hungary, where the unemployed lose benefits after 6 months and are forced to perform work for dole in uniform?

Story in the Mail tomorrow that new rules will insist that a father's name appear on every birth cert.
    Hmm, that could get interesting.

"I cant remember as I was locked and was riding everyone I met at the party" might dispense with that silly notion of a request adequately
