It seems the Government will go after the long-term unemployed in the next budget. A new OECD report today recommended cutting benefits for them and also linking welfare payments to participation in training schemes. How long before Ireland is at the state of Hungary, where the unemployed lose benefits after 6 months and are forced to perform work for dole in uniform?
