IFSC Clearing House: What the Irish Times Doesn't Say And Why It Matters https://soundmigration.wordpress.com...hy-it-matters/
Very useful piece from Soundmigration
RTE reports that, in spite of non stop coverage of Apple's tax scam in Ireland, Enda's EU buddies were really nice to him and didn't even mention the issue today.
"Afterwards Taoiseach Enda Kenny said the row over Apple's tax position with Ireland "wasn't mentioned to me at all" during the meeting.
Mr Kenny told journalists: "It wasn't an issue that was raised or discussed at all." http://www.rte.ie/news/2013/0522/451769-eu-summit-tax/
Why wouldn't they mention it? Well, after finding that the Troika's victims have just about been squeezed dry, the EU is looking for new ways to prop up their bankrupt banks. These include Cyprus template bail-ins, hyperinflationary quantitative easing IV, and "rationalization", that is letting certain banks and certain counties, and even certain offshore tax havens go belly up. Enda's buddies just didn't mention that they were about to destroy him.
Given this turn, which is behind the so called European Banking Union, Tom Pringle's call today that he will bring up in the Dail the mechanism for a voluntary exit by member states from the EU, and further discussion about how a federalized Europe destroys national sovereignty, is especially important.

IFSC lobby group being exposed. To what effect though?
I agree- to what effect?
We can't just poke holes in this filthy operation, we have to stop the government guarantees for their operations that are cannibalizing Ireland. The reinstated Glass-Steagall bill which would have no government support for speculative banking is designed to go all the way, like Franklin Roosevelt did in his first 100 days. There are many horrible things going on in America, but the Glass-Steagall bill is a great thing and it was just given a big shot of momentum when Sen. Tom Harkin introduced SB 985 as Senate companion bill to Marcy Kaptur and Walter Jones' HR 129 in the House of Representatives. Passage of Glass Steagall in the US will give Ireland a chance to just say no to the Troika and their IFSC lobbyist buddies.

Good bit on Vinb there. Even if Harry is treating like the Irish Times were first to look...
"Any member or civilian employee of An Garda Síochána who wishes to report in confidence about corruption and malpractice can be assured that any such report will be taken seriously and extensive protections will be given to him or her"

Great effort to emphasise the Irish Times' centrality though. No doubt he's aware the Soundmigration piece above at #92
