All about massaging live register and more importantly driving down wages in the private sector. Success for far.

They have been doing it in UK forever ..back in the 80s you could go on a morning course to become an entrepreneur and they would sideline you from live register for 6 months

Or possibly she is measuring success by how happy the companies getting the free labour are.
I've had a few interviews for internships none of which would have got me a job at the end of the placement. This was made clear at the interviews. I know this is a complete waste of valuable funds but as an unemployed person, my views are neither here nor there.
Also, the rational behind these schemes is that employers (being the sensitive types) don't want to risk employing people (as far as I can make out) so this scheme gives otherwise unemployable people a chance to prove themselves. The minister worded it nicer but that is the gist of it.

Only thing I can say Kitty is not to give up. Keep your head up and keep on going through you will land on your feet. The emotional and mental toll on people is the worst part, we build ourselves up to do a job and we dont get it and its easy to lose hope.

    Constantin Gurdgiev not impressed -

@irishstu I just emailed info@houseofireland.com ab their disgraceful ad on ‪#JobBridge‬ - http://bit.ly/NtO4wr - it's an abuse of the system
Hey twitterati - let's send a message to @House_ofIreland on foot of their #jobbridge application: http://bit.ly/NtO4wr

Employers are whinging that only getting 6 to 9 months unpaid labour from people on JobsBridge isn't enough for them. To her shame, the Minister for Lifestyle Choices seems sympathetic to them. She even calls the slave labour scheme, "the new apprenticeship".

    Did she now....
I happen to hear a good news article a local station, there is an huge increase in businesses taking on people this year.

Then on a rep from the Small Businesses' Association was whining about the lack of skills, which I couldn't understand. Then I realised that all of us on the dole are immediately discounted, by the sounds of it.

I agree ISME and their mouth spokesman Fielding want to pay nothing or as little as they can for workers and Joan is falling into their trap .

    Are they really?

While Ministers increase the salaries paid to Terry Prone and their multiple friends who advise them..
"The land Coillte Teo is now selling for development was given to them by the State in 1988 to ensure that our woodlands were run commercially, not to enable them to sell the family silver to service bank loans".

This is not new. The Oireachtas has been overrun with US "interns" from the 90s at least.
