Apologies if this is in the wrong section. This is a thought that came to me the other day. In the by-election in Dublin West it will most likely be between Patrick Nulty of the Labour Party and Fine Gaels candidate(Kieran Dennison).
The by-election won't be viewed as hugely important because the government comfortably have enough seats and Fine Gael comfortably have more seats than Labour so there will be no massive shift in the Dáil.
Patrick Nulty would be viewed as being on the left of the Labour Party(wherever that is on the political spectrum). He probably will be vocally against the coalition although not to the same extent as Tommy Broughan so I was wondering would there be certain members on the right of the Labour Party who would prefer a pro-coalition Fine Gaeler than an anti-coalition Labour TD who would be vocally against the coalition?
