Warm Ocean Water Takes Toll on Antarctica’s Glaciers

It has become increasingly clear in recent years that ocean waters are eating away at the undersides of the ice shelves that fringe Antarctica and buttress its many glaciers. A new study released Tuesday has found that hundreds of feet of ice have been lost from the bottoms of a few of these ice shelves and glaciers in a region of the continent that is contributing the most to sea level rise. ...

Here the peer-reviewed study => Rapid submarine ice melting in the grounding zones of ice shelves in West Antarctica

    Weather extremes taking their toll:

U.S.: Aerial Photos Document Massive Flooding of 36 Factory Farms

Hurricane Matthew's rampage through North Carolina's coastal plain flooded more than 140 feces-strewn swine and poultry barns, more than a dozen open pits brimming with hog waste and thousands of acres of manure-saturated fields, an analysis by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and Waterkeeper Alliance reveals.

When floodwaters reach livestock confinement barns, waste pits or waste application fields, nearby surface water becomes contaminated with animal [ü]rine and feces, which contain a number of harmful pollutants including E. coli and salmonella. In the aftermath of Hurricane Floyd in 1999, dangerous levels of E. coli and Clostridium were found in water samples even after the flooding receded.

After Hurricane Matthew, Waterkeeper Alliance coordinated 20 aerial surveys to assess flooding impacts on swine and poultry CAFOs in eight North Carolina counties. Pilots flew over floodplains, creeks and swamps. Aerial photos document the flooding of 10 swine operations, 26 poultry facilities and 14 open-air waste pits—an ugly reminder of the recklessness of concentrating animal feeding operations in a low-lying area inundated annually by tropical storms.

Sure, breeal. "weatherstreet" and "policlimate" are not propaganda as sure as the moon is made of cheese. Ask Irish farmers how they sense the rise in weather extremes. And BTW, this is what NOAA is publishing in terms of Extreme Events:

No wonder fossil fuel export depending Putin loves Trump...

    4th November 2016

    Morocco bound

Just 329 days since the gavel came down in Paris last December, the first global deal on climate change formally passed into international law today. The dizzying pace of the ratification process has surprised everyone – quickened over recent months by the very real prospect of Donald Trump entering the White House. The property tycoon is threatening to pull the US out of the deal, if elected next week.

This is sure to be the main talking point next week as climate negotiators from almost 200 countries arrive in Marrakech on Monday for their annual meeting. Carbon Brief has published a detailed preview of COP22 setting out all the keys areas where progress is being sought — it "will be the nerdy friend to its glamorous Parisian predecessor". Carbon Brief will be there throughout the fortnight where we will be providing our usual buffet of analysis, graphics, interviews and explainers. You can now bookmark our dedicated COP22 page, which we launched today.

    Disappearing ice

A study published in Science this week provided a new way to visualise the impact of our carbon emissions. The researchers found that for every tonne of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere, summer sea ice cover in the Arctic shrinks by three square metres. This means that for a return flight from London to New York, “the CO2 emissions for every seat cause three square metres of sea ice to disappear,” lead author Dr Dirk Notz told us.

The study illustrates a “very powerful way” to talk about emissions, says Dr Alexandra Jahn, who wasn’t involved in the study. For example, our article showed that the UK’s emissions in 2015 will contribute to around 1,500 square kilometres of summer Arctic sea ice loss – that’s the size of Greater London.

Also this week, another study helped unravel one of the biggest uncertainties for scientists making climate change projections – how clouds will be affected as the Earth’s warms up.
The researchers found that uneven warming in the Pacific Ocean is causing an increase in clouds in the east Pacific, which has likely slowed the pace of recent warming on the Earth's surface. But the effect will be short-lived, Prof Joel Norris, who wasn’t involved in the research, told us: “I expect it will reverse at some point…this will likely increase the rate of global warming when it occurs.”

If you have any evidence that those graphs are incorrect or fraudulent, then post it.

Err. It's the other way around. Anyone can produce or fabricate a graph. BTW, if you had followed the thread you would have realised that I produced tons of evidence that these cherry-picked graphs by breeal don't mirror the global rise in weather extremes, pluralist. Now it's up to you to do a bit of a research

It’s official: the Paris climate deal is now international law

A UN deal to limit warming to well below 2C from pre industrial levels is now international law, in what officials say is an historic day in efforts to tackle climate change.

Agreed by 195 countries last December, the treaty commits governments to delivering regular carbon reduction plans and directing more funding towards low carbon sources of energy.

So far, 192 countries have signed and 94 governments have formally ratified the pact, which required support from 55 countries covering 55% of global greenhouse gas emissions to go live.
    ...

But also => Only three years to save 1.5C climate target, says UNEP

The door will close on the 1.5C warming limit unless countries raise their ambition before 2020, says the UN Environment Program (UNEP).

You have produced nothing but blatant propaganda and you know it, I produce fact after fact after fact, you can only produce predictions, predictions that have been failing miserably for decades.

And here, once again when asked for actual real evidence you come up with nothing! An ad-hoc weather event is not evidence, a trend showing change in extreme weather is something you just cannot produce, the only thing you can come up with is a ridiculous trend showing we're a more litigious society.

    We're waiting for your 'evidence'......
