Fionnán Sheehan of the Indo is tallking on the PK show about "who talks to the US".

The main thing he is saying is that the US wants to know exactly what is going on, and wants to know from the people at the top.

The State Department was deeply P'd off apparently that they were told there would be a Yes vote against the Lisbon Treaty and blamed Cowen for misinformation.

Great concern of course in monitoring anything that might affect Shannon airport.

In fairness, if the folk of Offally elect a half-wit to the Dail and the folk in FF elect the same half-wit to run the country, said half-wit is going to seek help..

Mary Hanafin, the failed nun of Irish politics privately briefing the American Embassy and renowned Comrade of the people Eamon Gilmore doing the same.

Brendan Halligan the Labour Party National Policy Coordinator and his 'Comite d' Honneur' on his European lobby group which includes Pat Cox, Bertie Ahern and Charlie McCreevy.

Pat Cox the former Progressive Democrat founder Secretary General and helpful negotiator with the recent Fine Gael and Labour coalition negotiations and now Presidential candidate.

Every now and again the farcical pretense of party politics falls apart in Ireland only to reveal self-interested lickarse gombeens all in a heap.
Think National. Act Local. Oh- and superstition is just the dark matter of human history.

Agreed. They're not just "all the same". They are incapable of being different.

Does anyone know when the Ireland Cables will be made publicly available?

I thought the whole point of Wikileaks was to make this primary data available. Instead, there has been a secret deal done with the Indo, and information is being drip-fed, by drips...

This is par for the course, with wikileaks. It is very inconsistent.

The Indo says it is releasing hardly anything marked SECRET.

A google for wikileaks with various keywords might track down some more or the cables.

In defence of Offaly people it must be said that we are not unique in choosing the differently witted to send to Leinster House.

Thanks Cactus. This probably has more to do with paying Julian Assange's legal bills than anything else.

The Indo yesterday said they didn't pay for the cables. Perhaps they paid for the adverts.

it seems the US embassy was baffled bout the source of Libertas funding despite rumours of Neo Con funding.
Now where would they have got that daft idea?
