Default Re: North Down Council Elections 2011

A strange place politically, always been fond of a political maverick, Jim Kilfedder, Robert McCartney and more recently IND MP Sylvia Hermon. The Greens have their only MLA here too in the similar Stormont constituency.

That said, last time out we saw the bigger parties putting the squeeze on with 2 INDs losing their seats as well as the UKUP's pair getting the boot.

The DUP were the big gainers but not at the expense of the UUP like elsewhere. They held all their seats. Alliance are very strong here too in an area considered the north's wealthiest but which also has large pockets of deprived social housing in both Holywood and Bangor.
