    FG never made any secret of their privatisation agenda so they are justified in saying they have a mandate to implement it.

    This notion that ministers should have expertise and experience in an area related to their department is superficially attractive but I think it's ultimately flawed.

    Ministers should be advancing the political policy of their governments, not grubbing around micro-managing the detail.
