Quantum Research has come out of hibernation
http://www.independent.ie/national-n...s-3216960.htmlA telephone poll for the Sunday Independent/Quantum Research today has found that more than three- quarters (78 per cent) said the Croke Park deal should be revisited in light of a slew of cuts, taxes and charges now proposed by the Government.
Fanning contacted by seance?
They've pulled out all the stops on PS bashing today, even giving Toady two bites of the cherry. If the public health system can be broken there are potentially huge rewards for the likes of Fat Dinny and Mr. Beans so we can expect a lot more of this.
Unfortunately it will probably succeed in the end because we don't care enough to look beyond the cheap smear to get to the truth.
The Sindo isn't content with hammering PS workers, people on welfare are also being set up for a kicking as well.
A respondent to a Quantum Research 'poll'said of the dole, "It shouldn't be cut but some sort of workfare schemes should be introduced so they can earn it."
That prepares the ground nicely for future articles about paying people to do nothing and spongers spending all day in the pub at our expense. Expect another 'Welfare family gets €10k a week" 'exposé' soon.
It's only Keaveney having one of his moments.
"It would be wrong not to prepare for a general election given the political challenges that lay ahead in the coming year, starting with the Budget," Mr Keaveney told the Sunday Independent.
No need to dig out the campaign shoes just yet.![]()

Significant that Quinn is taking a cut at Keaveny and that Shatter is calling for backbone.
There's going to be a lot of whipping the foot soldiers into shape this week.

eh??
http://www.independent.ie/opinion/an...n-3223582.htmlHe says: "We should anticipate a successor agreement and start negotiating it now. And if during the course of the negotiation we can speed up the transition between 'agreement 1' and 'agreement 2', I wouldn't rule that out. But an agreement needs two sides, so I can't speak for the other side."
A teacher should not be Education Minister, but should be Taoiseach?
"One of the great strengths I have, if I can be objective and not be falsely praising myself, is that I don't think a teacher should become Minister for Education. And we have all done that, every party.
"This place has been populated by teachers. Niamh Bhreathnach, Gemma Hussey. Noel Dempsey. Mary Coughlan was a social worker, Mary Hanafin was an excellent teacher in Sion Hill. But I think as a teacher you are too close to see things."

How incompetent would one have to be to not be able to run a profitable bar on the UCD campus?

The comment isn't disparaging teachers but refers to taking someone who'd worked in a junior/technical position within a department and making them Minister for the department.
It's not a novel idea.
