Give me a misty day, pearly gray, silver, silky faced, wide-awake crescent-shaped smile
Thanks Andrew49. You're heading off at the right time, as there will be a few hours of anticipation before real results start to come in in any numbers.
Real politics start in Ireland today.
FF on 15.1%? this is bad news for Ireland, we'll be made have another election.
They only were on 8% in Dublin - that is the direction things are heading in.
I'd be interested to see the age-profile of the Fianna Fail vote.
Just heard it - 65 and over = 23%, 24 and under = 10%.
Our own exit poll fits in with this, based on an average to younger age profile.

And IM taking both short and long term into account. You did kinda sidestep that. we all know we couldnt trust the ula with the dept of finance. ok so i wouldnt trust most others with it either but id sooner trust meself than joe higgins/rbb/ and clare 'fight for jobs'(whatever the **** that means) daly. this issue should not be let drop. ganley and blaney etc will come back stronger next time-where the hell is the marxist planning on the left to provide real economic alternatives??? because default is mere months away!!
From discussions on RTE, it looks as though Labour may get most of its candidates returned: a question there about what the strategy actually was.
Seat predictions SF - 10-15 seats, Greens 1-3, FG 70 +, Labour 38-40, Fianna Fail 20 seats (none in Dublin), 20 Independents.
FF on 8% in Dublin? If that holds through to results the I'm off for a few beers tonight. I think also looking at Labour who ran an appalling campaign based solely on being an empty shopping basket for opposition votes have been extremely lucky to have picked up passing trade in terms of voters who wanted to vote 'left' in old money but couldn't go to Sinn Fein.
On these numbers Sinn Fein must know that they have to change the leadership ... again if these numbers turn out to be convincing after the count its clear that SF must clear out the old guard and bring forward the Pearse Doherty membership.
Think National. Act Local. Oh- and superstition is just the dark matter of human history.
A high turnout. A most encouraging exit poll. Thanks for getting the figures up. It's hard to grasp all from the radio.
The sun is shining. Yes this will be a good day! Isn't democracy a thing of beauty?
It is when you can do more than tick a few boxes once every few years. Or even when those box-ticks substantially affect the way the country is run.
Haha did anyone hear John Bowman? "Even Brian Lenihan for all his courage and (?) doesnt have a safe seat."
42% of people say they voted for policies as opposed to the taoiseach or other things! Wow. That's encouraging on the face of it, but if actually true then it means want to live in poverty or a different country for the next decade/forever.
