The lies are getting liesier, or something like that

For Shredder Cowen to continue to occupy the Office of An Taoiseach and to stand in the way of real leadership actually makes him a traitor.
To walk out in public and admit to oneself and the whole world that you are a colossal failure whose shortcomings may have harmed hundreds of thousands for decades to come would take a lot of character and involve throwing a lot of friends under the bus with you. Are you sure that is something you could do?

I'd say that what really makes Cowen emotional is that he is a dyed in the wool FFer, Tribal and of the public house republican party rhetoric. He knows in his heart that he is leading FF to it's greatest ever bloodbath at next election, and he will be a gonner. he does not want that footnote in history. And I'm very glad for him.

until I observed how deficient and failing our supposed leaders actually are I had never been compelled to take their place.

Outrage witnessing the economic destruction and treason being committed by the occupants of Dail Eireann now requires that good citizens step forward.

To use perhaps an appropriate analogy Cowen has spent the last 2 years effectively drinking at a lock-in while a guy is dying of a heart attack on the floor beside him, except he's too busy drinking to bother calling an ambulance - Incapacitated
FF dont play the Irish public for fools, they know them to be.
