Why did nobody on the panel ask for disclosure of the detail of the lease agreement for which the Irish public are going to pay. After all the lease is between two gov bodies - the HSE and NAMA/ Mr. Murphy. You would expect that the Irish taxpayer got a very good deal because there are a lot of empty property/sites in Ballbriggan. Minister Reilly could help clear his name by showing that he got very good value and did not do any great favour for his pal.

    it's pretty clear, no?

The election of the President and Vice President of the United States is an indirect vote in which citizens cast ballots for a slate of members of the U.S. Electoral College; these electors in turn directly elect the President and Vice President. Presidential elections occur quadrennially (the count beginning with the year 1792) on Election Day, the Tuesday between November 2 and 8,[1] coinciding with the general elections of various other federal, states and local races.
The process is regulated by a combination of both federal and state laws. Each state is allocated a number of Electoral College electors equal to the number of its Senators and Representatives in the U.S. Congress.[2] Additionally, Washington, D.C. is given a number of electors equal to the number held by the smallest state.
Under the U.S. Constitution, each state legislature is allowed to designate a way of choosing electors.[2] Thus, the popular vote on Election Day is conducted by the various states and not directly by the federal government. Once chosen, the electors can vote for anyone, but – with rare exceptions like an unpledged elector or faithless elector – they vote for their designated candidates and their votes are certified by Congress in early January. The Congress is the final judge of the electors; the last serious dispute was in the 2000 election.

The key point in what you cited from Wikipedia is this:-

"Once chosen, the electors can vote for anyone"

The Electoral College has a free hand constitutionally, to choose anyone who has reached the right age, was born in the US and who hasn't exceeded the 10 year maximum in the office.

It would be legal under the US system for a candidate to declare him/her self after the Electors had been elected and for that candidate to canvass the Electors and win the presidential election. Obviously that's unlikely in the extreme but it would be lawful.

Ryan seems to have lost all the tics and twitches he had before the last government finally collapsed.

In the EU, being a native English speaker is an advantage if you're articulate, says Ryan. Fair Enough Eamo but look what we're sending:-

RBB can't get basic figures right even after a tutorial from Matthews. Its 63bn that has gone into the banks, not 163bn
