crime
JP Phelan, Ali Bracken (crime corr, Irish Daily Mail) & Malachy Steenson (criminologist )
Would that be this Malachy Steenson?
If memory serves he was controversial at one time for his ability to accommodate private schooling for his children within his hard left principles.
I'll probably give it a miss tonight, then.
Anyone got an idea/care to guess what the Mail are leading with tomorrow? Senan Moloney's been drafted in to talk about the papers and the story he has re: Phil Hogan tomorrow.
Mmm. Maybe the quashed enquires into local planning are coming up again. Then of course there was his soft loan from Fingleton....

Who's running the department charged with social housing again?
Remember a house assigned to a traveller family in Kilkenny being burned down in April of this year?

Good point. House is Jan O'Sullivan's breif but Phil calls the shots.
Not much shock to this story tbh. Will probably do more for him in the end

No smoking gun. Vinnie loves to whinge about the oppressed but apparently there's no direct link between Hogan and the decision. Vinnie can whinge all he likes but the reality is that this might actually increase Hogan's votes. Hogan's constituency is a largely rural one. There are other issues that a good editor would tell his journos to follow up.
