MacLochlainn and McHugh should be safe enough, but who will take the last seat - will the banjo-playing retards of Fanad still vote for Blaney the Lesser? Will Jimmy Harte trade off his da's memory with the auld wans to steal a shock Labour seat and leave FF with 0? Does anyone actually care?

Donegal South-West is a bit more interesting. Wasn't there a candidate in the recent bye-election who polled 3000+ first preferences who used to be in SF? If SF have any smarts, they will get him back in the tent pronto. Doherty is a certainty for SF in this constituency. he is based in Gweedore. But the other guy was from around where Coughlan is based and if he can get 3000+ first prefs without a party machine behind him, I think he could damage Coughlan immensely with the SF electoral apparatus working on maximum strength.

There is a possibility in the current climate to get 2 SF in here and leave FF holding their todgers and standing in the rain.

Thomas Pringle. He's a Killybegs man I think. Labour were trying to recruit him recently - another sign of Labour's general hypocrisy and somewhat bizarre candidate selections.

I thought they'd be using the 2009 county council election boundary. The map is the older boundary but they used the old boundary for the SW by-election.

    Blaney not standing:-

    Bryan Dobson
RTE reporting that Niall Blaney TD FF Donegal NE not seek re-election. End of a political dynasty
Edit:- Then again he may decide to stand as an Indo. I wonder if Martin asked him to stand aside for the good of the party ?

Any way on those numbers that Ryan can overtake McConnellogue on transfers and nab the final seat? It's mathematically possible of course, just wondering if it is likely.

FF with 0 in Donegal, now that would be a great result.

Doesn't look like the top 2 will have any surplus and I'm not familiar with the INDs there. You'd assume they'd go anti-FF but I see the name Blaney in there too.
