The High Court has ruled that bankrupt businessman Séan Quinn, his son Séan and his nephew Peter Darragh Quinn breached court orders.

Bankrupt businessman Séan Quinn will go to jail obviously as he's broke. A fine - of any size - would be out of the question. Jails in Ireland have many reserved places for those on low incomes.
60% of people serving sentences for 6 months or less are poor, and are often homeless people. Although Séan can't be considered homeless he can definitely be classed as poor - if we are to believe he is bankrupt.
The average cost of imprisonment per prisoner was €70,513 in 2010.

maybe the family could buy the jail and fit it to their own standards they could even invite Wallace
Will they sentence him to prison or wait for Anglo directors who tried to inflate their share price via Maple 10.?
Since the banking crisis, none of the banking directors have been brought to court re their role on their watch.. irresponsbility..
Institute of directors/Institute of Banking haven't called them for questioning or expel them. Where's our coporate goverence as its' practically non -existant??
Look for a bigger fish to fry not Quinn as Anglo have been good to him since 1997 re loans.
"[Ms Justice Dunne] said the behaviour of the respondents outlined in evidence before her was as far removed from the concept of honour and respectability as it is possible to be."
So according to the the High Court Quinn is dishonourable and he's not a respectable businessman. Who could disagree with that assessment of a scum-bag who tried to put his assets out of reach of those he owes money to?
more on the news now
"Instead of trying to repay the admitted debt due, the Quinn family and in particular the respondents have taken every step possible to make it as difficult as can be to recover any amount due.
"They have engaged in a complex, complicated and, no doubt, costly, series of steps designed to put the assets of the IPG beyond the reach of Anglo, in a blatant, dishonest and deceitful manner. "
So the former prince of Irish business is regarded by the High Court as - dishonest, deceitful, dishonourable and not a respectable businessman.

The High Court is a - dishonest, deceitful and dishonourable institution.
"Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing it, and then misapplying the wrong remedies.”
News reports keep referring to Quinn as bankrupt but is it not the case that his UK bankruptcy was overturned and he hasn't been bankrupted here yet?
Several cases running against Quinn, perhaps Sean should have declared in Lourdes.
Every developer in Nama will be feeling very nervous on Friday as will the ones who also declared in UK, Justice Dunne is following on in footsteps of Justice Peter Kelly, where would we be without them, they set the standard.
