TV3 News at 11pm showed a clip of the gardai breaking down the door. Actually until I see it again I'm not sure whether it was broken down or whether the students opened it.

There was a Guard with one of those door breakers much in evidence in the raids in Britain after the riots.

    They have been tooling up.

Fair play to them. FEE Galway have always been very militant and active, I would expect nothing less .

That ought to dispose him to hear their case favourably.

Nine students have been arrested after they occupied the constituency office of a Fine Gael TD in Galway city.
The students are all members of 'Free Education for Everyone Galway'.
They occupied Deputy Brian Walsh's office on Bohermore around midday, with two students climbing onto the roof of the building.
After an hour-long stand-off involving Galway gardaí and a unit of Galway Fire Brigade, the eight men and one woman were forcibly removed from the office,
They are all being detained at Millstreet Garda Station.

    Another occupation this afternoon.
Maynooth SU has occupied the constituency office of Anthony Lawlor, Fine Gael TD for Kildare North.

You're a TD going about your normal business when a pressure group locks you out of your office. You can't access your files so your ability to do your job is affected. You have to find alternative accommodation for your staff. Your constituents can't contact you as normal. You know that if you accede to their demands you'll have another mob in as soon as they clear out.

Are you more or less likely to support whatever it is the pressure group is demanding?
