Default Irish Times - Noel Dempsey 'undecided' over election

Just saw this on the Irish Times, breaking news:

    Dempsey 'undecided' over election

"Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey has said he has not decided if he will run in the next general election.

"Mr Dempsey told Newstalk radio this morning that now may be the time for something other than politics.

“I’m in politics and was always in politics out of conviction. I don’t think politics is working as well as it should in the current circumstances," he said.

This is wonderful news, though I would have preferred to see him trounced in an election...

I wonder is he waiting to see what the Independents do on the budget today, before confirming?

I also wonder if he is retiring because he reckons he won't get the Fianna Fail leadership?

Finally, I wonder if he feels any shame at all?

I reckon he's genetically incapable of feeling or understanding shame.

He's off to the doctor for a pension-related sick cert, no doubt.

On the matter of the vandalism of his constituency office, the spelling mistake is leading observers to supect the involvement of the Garda false flag squad...

These paedofáils are such cowards. I have more time for the 1997-era Tories from over the ditch. At least they took their pasting from the electorate.

I'd have more respect for Michael 'something of the night' Howard than Noel 'Sweatin' for Shell' Dempsey, and that's saying something!
"It is we the workers who built these palaces and cities here in Spain and in America and everywhere. We, the workers, can build others to take their place. And better ones! We are not in the least afraid of ruins. We are going to inherit the earth; there is not the slightest doubt about that. The bourgeoisie might blast and ruin its own world before it leaves the stage of history. We carry a new world here, in our hearts."

Well, in fairness to Dempsey, indecision and a lack of a clear idea of where he is going is not unique to that particular Minister in this particular Government. Pretty widespread I would say.

Does he ****? He has been promising Navan (one of the most populated towns in the country) a train line since the 90's and still hasn't delivered it. He has a neck like a jockey's bollox.

Sadly so and that might actually be a factor in his decision.

Or indeed Michael Portillo whose defeat in 1997 was a national media event.
