Default Wikileaks American Cables on Ireland.

I've decided to setup a thread to record and discuss the Cables
between the American Embassy in Dublin
and the State Department in Washington.

Records currently released so far... 1447 out of 251,287.

Number of Records from Ireland... 9 out of 633.

Unfortunately nothing has been released pertaining to Ireland as of yet,
but it will be interesting to see the communiques between Dublin and Washington for the period 2008 - 2010.

    Link is below
    http://cablegatewikileaks.org/

Hopefully over the next couple of days we will see a few.

There is some 'interesting' information there already.

    For example Muammar al-Gaddafi
Really likes Flamenco dancing and horse racing.
Always has to stay on the top floor of any building he sleeps in,
but will only walk up 35 steps on a flight of stairs,
and doesn't take flights longer than 8 hours.
A simple man for the people.

I would love to know the take on BIFFO and Lendahand.

    Not at all.
    I have my doubts too.
    Disinformation and politics aren't strangers.
I believe that the DARPA Information Awareness Office (formerly led by
John Poindexter who has a history of supplying and fabricating evidence Iran- Contra, Libya etc.)
have a large hand to play in this.

    Here we go

EMERGING CONSTRAINTS ON U.S. MILITARY TRANSITS

    http://cablegate.wikileaks.org/cable...UBLIN1020.html

Looks dodgy to me tbh. I will need to change my vote to no.

    Although supportive of continued U.S.
military transits at Shannon Airport, the Irish Government
has informally begun to place constraints on U.S. operations
at the facility, mainly in response to public sensitivities
over U.S. actions in the Middle East.

Try to refresh once or twice as they are, I believe,
still undergoing a DDOS attack, so your request might not get
    through to their servers.
When you get through try to download the site as an archive.
If you can't get through to the site use this
torrent link to download the site contents.

Please, Munnkeyman, as you clearly know what you are doing, would you be able to download this material to an album or thread on this site and link it here?

We can't rely on permanent access to that server.

Here's the first cable on Ireland saved as a text file.
I'll update this post with them as they arrive.

With regards to the poll, I think it is for real for the following reasons, people who leak to it are at risk of stiff sentences which they surely wouldn't be if it was a purely establishment site, plus Assange seems to be on the verge of being stitched up by Interpol which again wouldn't happen if he was a CIA asset. It's correct to be skeptical about their motivations, especially when releasing information such as the North Korean and Iranian cables which only serve to benefit the interests of US imperialism, but I don't think they validate concerns that wikileaks is the stooge of a particular government.

    Any more Sean?
Anything on Ulick McEvaddy's contract mid air refueling of US military planes.
The Dow Jones report on the contract had the following interesting sentence.

"Mr McEvaddy refused to discuss any rendition related overtures."

    That smells like ....

    Re poll
What few cables I've read seem credible.
