Default Dukes criticises Varadkar for "gratuitously insulting" senior management at the bank.

    heh
    http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/1221/ala...-varadkar.html

Mr Varadkar was quoted in a Sunday newspaper on 11 November as saying: "IBRC and State controlled banks must respond swiftly to the growing demand for action on pay and pensions".

In his email of 12 November, Mr Dukes takes issue with Mr Varadkar, saying that the people who contributed to the crisis should shoulder a portion of the burden.

Mr Dukes says, with the exception of IBRC's manager of IT and operations, all of senior management at the bank "have been recruited outside the Irish banking system".

He adds: "Your gratuitously insulting characterisation of these people is akin to blaming the team in the intensive care unit for the heart attack that brought the patient there in the first place."

These guys never got the immensity of the calamity that occurred it seems
Mr Dukes must be aware that the image of the organisation he works in is damaged beyond repair.
The performances in front of the Dail committees by the public interest directors keeps that image alive.
    Its all optics Alan
And the letter notwithstanding the contents doesn't aid that image

No love lost there, is there? Looks like all out war has broken out.
Dukes isn't happy either about the DOF sending in their own man to see what the hell is going on in there..
The head of IBRC has blamed “misplaced media commentary” for negative coverage of a senior appointment at the bank.

Chairman Alan Dukes said the appointment of Department of Finance employee Neil Ryan to a senior role at the bank was a positive move, but the ensuing media coverage was “damaging and unhelpful” to the bank’s reputation.

The comment was contained in a letter Mr Dukes wrote to Minister for Finance Michael Noonan after the minister was asked to confirm his confidence in the board of the former Anglo Irish Bank

Dukes is a well known acolyte of Peter Sutherland. Which just about says it all about Alan Dukes. The words 'public interest' inserted too closely to the likes of Dukes or people like him is just a blatant fraud.

I doubt Dukes was ever 'in' enough to be able to muster a strategy to sell 'out'. A rentier class messenger boy if ever there was one.

Dukes has never to my knowledge made even the slightest concession to the notion that Eire SPV is anything other than a medium sized company with an income stream that interests him.

The mentality of a shop-clerk and the traditions of the cattle-mart culture around him. His funeral is entirely likely to be offshored via the IFSC. Other than that his cultural contribution is as nothing more than a self-interested and greedy clerk.

Remember this? There was full scale war going on between the government and Dukes by the end of 2012.

Reading that letter again, it seems to read as though Dukes sees himself as part of Noonan's circle and so above Varadkar and his questions even on such trivialities as the optics of how obscene the six figures wages and pensions on the 'Board' are.

Who's really in charge if a relatively powerful Cabinet Minister can be talked down to so arrogantly in this manner?

Was it Varadkar who made that letter public?

Govt. obviously is divided into those who are in bed with the old guard and those who aren't. Noonan still felt he had to 'ask' IBRC members for a paycut.
