Ex Chair Of Standards Watchdog Repays £28k
The former chair of the Commons standards watchdog has been told to repay £28,000 expenses he wrongly claimed for a second home he "very rarely" used.
Conservative MP David Curry quit the Standards and Privileges Committee when his claims came to light four months ago.
He referred himself to the Parliamentary Standards Authority which has now ruled he should give back most of the money he received as a second home allowance.
The MP "very rarely" stayed overnight in his constituency house between July 2005 and March 2009, the sleaze watchdog found.
Any chance of this happening here? It's gone very quiet on the outrageous expenses front of late. They must all be delighted about that.

Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." Samuel Adams
