Ganley always had to keep his views pretty much under wraps to keep credibility. There would have to be a lot more political and economic damage done before this group would get traction. But it is never wise to dismiss the far right or laugh at them. They should be taken seriously, politically exposed and fenced in to the sludgy backwaters in which they originate.
There are no indications as of now that Ganley will run for election. He announced his possible interest, but that might not necessarily translate into a decision to run, given the fact that there's a real chance he could be humiliated and the national press would be onto it like dogs on a bone. I would hazard the guess he'd prefer to stay in the background pulling the strings on any new group that set up and funding it.
