Wonderful sunny day today. 27 degrees expected. A day for the Klausenpass. This is literally a road over a mountain, which, when approached from the Glarus side, involves 239 gear changes. On top of the mountain, the sight of clouds passing beneath you as you drink an espresso is something else.

What a fantastic week we have had! Don't want to boast but its been glorious! Salads have been the order of the day. I hope it lasts. Our athletes didn't do too badly for a small country. I understand we came fourth in the long distance walk. A celebratory glass of wine is called for!

Last time I posted here I was about to leave Cork for the ferry to Britain when a bad flood hit that flooded good friends of mine out of their now-condemned home.

I have a flight booked from Cork to Heathrow early tomorrow morning and now there's a near-hurricane coming.

I need to stay away from Cork...

And that's what I did exactly today (cut the grass)

Better to cut it when not as wet (as in it was Irish Summer wet today) as opposed to bog wet over the next few days
