Howdy from New Hampshire.
Hot as hell and humidity that kills.
We had an excellent storm last night - forked lightning during the 4th July fireworks, which was really something.

Weather sounds lovely! Its clammy here, a lot of poeple with chest infections, the weather is making it ideal conditions for them...

Yep, the stench in Douglas Village Centre is/was pretty bad I'm hearing. The Shopping Centre is a washout too, literally. Seems to have been 2-3 foot of water flowing through the place at one stage

A very good old friend of mine has/had(?) a shop in there and told me all about the damage last week. But, she also said the whole place had just gone through a major facelift, almost doubled in size, massive carparks.etc. Massive rent to..
And didn't the centre belong to Tesco, or at least have Tesco as an anchor tennant, and M&S too? Sounds a bit strange that it should sudenly go to the wall, after a flood. Maybe there was some truth in the not-insured rumour?

The weather is as sticky and rainy as I have come to expect.

But! The really good news is my gardener has been today. I have a lawn!! And he will return next week to tidy up and cut again. Happy here.....

Overnight low of 88F. 92 at 9.am. Burns your ears as you wait to cross the street. Briefly touched 104 with a heat index of 109. In addition to record high, high temperatures, there have also been record high - low - temps. 4,000 of them across the country in the last 2-3 weeks. Someone pointed out that in the western movies, the cowboys never wore short sleeve shirts. Now I'm exercised about that.

As if the ongoing record stretch of high heat wasn’t enough, we’ve got even higher heat on the way today. Daily record highs almost seem a sure bet at National (102), Dulles (101) and Baltimore (101). All set just two years ago! There’s even an outside shot we reach all-time highs across the area -- currently 106 for D.C., 105 for Dulles and 107 for Baltimore, if you’re playing along at home. Add in high humidity as well as dirty air, and it’s going to be ugly out there. At least we finally see some cooler times on the horizon.

Work on the Blackpool Shopping Centre at the Pole Field site, which he has controlled for decades, is to start soon at a cost of £12 million and should open in the autumn of 2000 with negotiations ongoing on an anchor tenant.
Clayton Love Jnr has just secured planning permission for a huge extension worth another £12 million to the Wilton Shopping Centre which, though he doesn't own it, he strategically administers for its pension fund owners IPFPUT.
