Default Leo Varadkar : Qualified simpleton.

In the wake of the shambles of a reshuffle, Varadkar's nasty and ill considered attack on his own party's former leader has taken the media spotlight off Cowen. Do FG get special training for this kind of thing or is it genetic?

It was not an attack, he was merely comparing Cowen to Fitzgerand and saying that he was not in Lemasses league.

The shambles will show it's lack of worth shortly and Leo's contribution stands. He should have brought Dukes into the equation while he was at it.

It was a nasty lttle attack. He even made a snide remark about writing boring articles in the papers.

He lashed Dukes on PrimeTime. Check the letters page of tomorrows Indo to see if he has a go at Liam Cosgrave.

He is only making his own career a truncated one. If he insists on making these types of statements he'll only make sure he's regarded as a loose cannon, someone who can't be trusted to be discreet. Quite a price for the momentary thrill of the smart arse remark...

Leo will be around for a very very long time, he fired off a line against an FF-Lite supporter, Garret is not unlike Alan Dukes, a traitor to the republic.

    Fair play to Leo.

It wasn't very clever, was it? It gave Pat Carey a chance to deflect attention from the reshuffle on Prime Time. I wonder if Varadker is showing some frustration with Kenny and the old guard in the party? Last week's conference was a damp squib. It got overshadowed by the ongoing clerical scandals and Kenny's speech didn't even make it to the first item on Saturday's nine o'clock news. There was a lot of backbench mutterings when George Lee went. Not much has changed since apart from Kenny putting on a few counterfeit angry rants.

You have a point there, Kenny got a bounce after Lee legged it and Inda went on the attack. After watching Inda in the Dail today, he is back in his box serving FF as a useless opposition leader.

There are ways and there are ways though. The smug remark in the Dáil only shoots himself in the foot in the long term. It might get a cheap laugh from someone, but then there is only the impression of someone who can't be trusted with his mouth...

I wish FG front bencher's wouldn't compete with him for the title of Supreme Moron.

Dont worry, FF are on their own when looking for that title.

Yes, it was a little nervous I thought A bit like a schoolchild chancing his arm and saying something bold.

Fitzgerald and Dukes entered the ring over NAMA at a critical moment and knocked the opposition flat. To a large degree because they weren't FF.

Of course, if FG had had any alternative to NAMA that was more than half baked it wouldn't have been such an issue.
