Default By-Elections to Be Held Early 2011

The Chief Whip. according to RTE news, has stated that the 3 by-elections will be held early in 2011 - a March date was mentioned.

SF's legal action seems to have shifted the log jam.

God I forgot we were a democracy. Do you think a General Election will get in the way in the mean time?

I think the FF govt is calling their bluff as i would advise SF to go ahead with their court action, which could define for us the maximum that they could go without a seat for six months at least.

The spin that curran put on it was that the gov. HAD TO defend their position, in court. God, give us a break.

It was hinted to me today that there would be no bye-elections in March, that we would be having a General election instead. According to my source, the Greens will have their Dublin Mayor and Political Donations policies through by that stage and will then have no more reason to remain in Government.

kenny said in the Dail today that if the writ failed today, fg would also go to the courts about the two remaining bye-elections.

I wouldn't be holding my breath. Dublin Mayor and political donations rules will be dealt with as a sop to keep the Greens in government until next March(if we even get that far)

    Next year?

    WTF?

Hasn't a couple of these constitutenices been open for longer than necessary?

This is not a democracy. Its dictatorship.

In fact when with this sick Green sponsored social choice nightmare. This is hell.

We need to copy Switzerland's 900 year example of Direct Democarcy. No parties, just individuals?

FF have committed to moving the writ by the end of march March and will probably hold the by-elections in May/June.

If the country can still afford by-elections by then
