Default Is Willie O'Dea positioning himself to challenge for the FF leadership?

I'm not sure this has been picked up by the media but I think Willie O'Dea may be thinking of challenging for the FF leadership in the next FF leadership contest. If you take note of his recent appearance on The Late Late Show and his recent articles in the Sindo you can clearly see that he's taking positions which are a very different from the current FF establishment. It seems to be very apparent that he is trying to position himself on the left-wing of FF.

Maybe he fancies his chances now that there appears to be a current vacuum in FF?

I dunno. He's damaged goods and his majority will be well done in the next GE in Limerick thanks to his inaction over Dell and the bad taste the whole Quinilivan affair left- Quinlivan is very well thought of in Limerick and Willie's dirty dig lost him some of support.

At best, he will be Lenihan's number 2. As either Tanaiste or MoF.

I could see FF nua's leadership being Lenihan as Taoiseach, Dermot Ahern as Tanaistre and Minister for someting trivial with Willie as MoF and Lenihan's right hand man. Martin will tag along with the aim of replacing Lenihan, Hanafin will get a senior Ministry.

I'm surprised that Willie would set his sights so low when there are obviously more profitable pursuits in Limerick.
Think National. Act Local. Oh- and superstition is just the dark matter of human history.

    Oh god...
Mr Lenihan said the guarantee was “the cheapest bailout” compared with bank rescues in other countries, including the UK and the US, where “billions and billions of taxpayers’ money are being poured into financial institutions” - October 24 2008

Willie O'Dea wouldn't have the credibility to make a serious challenge.
His judgement is highly questionable (anyone remember the scary photo of Willie with the gun?). As is his mustache.

Finally, a thesis more ridiculous than Bertie being President.
