Chances are it would be out of date as there was an amalagamation of the bus routes recently and some routes even closed down. They should have something like the Berlin Map or Paris Metro map...

It can be done. Just takes some vision and leadership. I know that is in short supply.

Earlier this week we tracked a designer's frustrating efforts to simplify Dublin's "confusing and nonsensical" bus system. Today we look at how a city might actually implement such a significant change. The metropolitan area of Auckland, in New Zealand*, has a similarly flawed bus network — lots of disconnected local routes that run directly into the downtown — but has proposed a redesign plan [PDF] that cuts waste and expands services. The plan is now open for public comment.

Jarrett Walker, author of the Human Transit blog and a recent book by the same name, played a leading role in the planning. The key change is the efficient use of connections, Walker wrote at his blog a few weeks back. With this shift the new plan dramatically increases the network of high-frequency buses — those running at least every 15 minutes all day — and covers far more of the city than just the downtown. Sorry fluffy. that's the RER, the regional express trains map, not the metro, much less complicated. Take your point though.

MAYBE..... they are 'looking into it' like any hole in the ground. The IT piece on the same topic yesterday was a lot less positive - Iarnoid E don't really want to do much with it, they want to move on with the DART connection tunnel. The problem, apart from the I km trek to platform 10, is there is no capacity in Connolly. Anyway there is no readies.

Anew form of NIMBYism is taking hold

NOMBR- Not On My Bus Route

One source said the party is "getting it in the neck" from hundreds of people at public meetings about the proposals and claimed the issue is being seized on by opposition parties.

Sources said Dublin Fingal TD Alan Farrell argued that it was a "mistake" for Mr Ross not to stay in the Dáil chamber for the entirety of a debate on the matter today.
Dublin South West TD Colm Brophy compared the issue to water charges and warned it could cost Fine Gael seats at the local elections.

Dublin TD John Lahart said he supports seven of the eight elements of the plan but has concerns about the redesign of routes because passengers on popular routes will face having to make connections to complete journeys.

even the responsible Minuster is ducking

Minister for Transport Shane Ross told a residents’ association meeting in his constituency on Wednesday evening he had nothing to do with the BusConnects plan and had no responsibility for the National Transport Authority, according to people present.

Mr Ross also indicated that he would be making his own submission to the ongoing public consultation on the plan and objecting to some aspects of it.

Earlier that day, Mr Ross had defended the plan in the Dáil.
