We, refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia appeal to world community now. You should know the truth about our awful life in Georgia. President Saakashvili and his team lie when they tell you about those large sums of money from your humanitarian aid which they have to spend for meeting our needs. In reality your financial aid goes mainly to large outlay for Georgian army re-equipment, because it is very necessary for initiating new military adventures of Saakashvili’s regime.
As to us, most of so-called IDP (Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories) families have to live here in extremely bad conditions of the cloak-rooms and repair houses. For instance, population of the IDP settlement of village Skla suffers from water deficit. In Gori refugees from South Ossetia had to pay so-called great debts for electricity, because the light in their houses was turned off this February and people were left without heat there. Even in Tbilisi two weeks ago more than 300 IDP families received a notice from local police department to release the occupied building of Georgian publishing house “Sakartvelo” within 5 days without offering any alternative accommodation!
Georgian Ministry of Refugees refuses to meet our housing needs without bribes, because we have not even a refugee’s status here now. That is why we cannot sign on at the Employment Exchange and obtain any employment without kickback for job!
You must stop sponsoring the criminal regime of M. Saakashvili, who gives own people the key of the street and then leaves them destitute and to own device!
