    Well, this happened. We were told in recent years by a poster here that no construction skills apprentices were being trained at all.

    Housing capital expenditure was cut more radically than any other category.

    Private sector house-building is still not viable outside Dublin, and arguably so in Dublin.

    Even if the new Government decides to build houses, is there anyone to build them ?

    The construction traffic is mighty round by me. Admittedly, so are the house prices, but I can count about 20 new houses going up within a square mile of me.
