A lot of them had faded away thanks to the chemotherapy suppressing their appetite and therefore they were whippets. Always swore I would lose a few lbs but keep a stone or two above what is my recommended weight for the reasons I saw.

Hoping to start some light exercise soon, my back is much better.

Piled on the pounds the last six months + literally doing no exercise. Want to lose around 1 1/2 to two stone

Used to play a lot of rugby but thats out the window, I'll have to find a new activity

Just to ease into whatever it is going to be, walking lunchtime gets some daylight in, as well as the exercise.

I reckon walking is a good idea, find it fierce boring without my dog though.

I'd like to play some sort of sport but I think they are all too ambitious to start off with. I thought about about swimming but I can't really afford it

Yes, a dog is great All that wagging is cool.

Perhaps you could borrow one ?

A pair of dumb bells is a great investment too.

Swimming can be reasonable enough with the Dublin City or SDCC public pools. I go swimming in Ballyfermot the odd time and its about €6 . There is a rate fo those whom are unemployed or students if you have a student card. Im looking to get back playing badminton, have not played for a year and Im seriously unfit but all badminton courts seem to be booked up

PS if you are walking and not walkig on main roads, if you have a smart phone download some of the BBC documentaries or RTE Podcasts or learn a language while walking! I normally download a new album or two and give them a listen.

My favourite walking route was through Kilmainham, Rialto, up behind Guinnesses and then throught he older parts of town like Francis St and back down on Thomas St and walk back down Kilmainham
