Rubbish. Go to the Guardian site, click on Harriet Sherwood and there's page afer page of articles critical of Israel. Same with almost all mainstream media outlets ;they swallow the Palestinian narrative hook line and sinker..... Fisk does it for the Independent . Israel is crap at PR.

More abuse of children by Israeli authorities:

On 11 March at around 1:45 am, Israeli soldiers entered ‘Anan’s home in the village of al-Nabi Saleh. The soldiers rounded up his family in their living room and searched the house.
Soon after, the soldiers removed ‘Anan from the house blindfolded him with a piece of cloth and bound his hands tightly with a plastic tie.
Once in the military jeep the soldiers slapped ‘Anan on the neck sharply several times. They drove for several minutes before stopping outside a caravan near Halamish settlement in which two policemen were waiting.
They removed ‘Anan’s blindfold but left his hands bound despite them cutting painfully into his wrists.
The policemen questioned ‘Anan for around an hour about his involvement in the weekly demonstrations that takes place in al-Nabi Saleh. They also accused him of throwing stones. ‘Anan was then put back in the jeep and blindfolded once again.
The soldiers drove for a distance of about 20 metres to an open area about one kilometre from al-Nabi Saleh. They forced ‘Anan out of the jeep, removed his blindfold, and drove away.
In the pitch darkness of the early hours of the morning, ‘Anan had no choice but to find his own way home with his hands still tied. When he finally arrived in al-Nabi Saleh, his father removed the plastic tie and saw that his son’s hands were badly swollen (See Al-Haq Affidavit No. 7133/2012).

Three children from Balata Refugee Camp (Nablus governorate) were arrested, shackled, blindfolded and beaten by Israeli soldiers on 6 March whilst collecting almonds in an area about 500 metres from the entrance to the Israeli settlement of Itamar.

These incidents are indicative of the Israeli policy of intimidation and collective punishment towards children. These children not only suffer physical injury but endure long-term psychological trauma as a result of detention. (See new report by Save The Children and the East Jerusalem YMCA)

Another damning report on Israel's systematic abuse of Palestinian children:

Since 1967, Palestinians from the West Bank have been living under Israeli military law and prosecuted in military courts. The United Nations (UN) estimates that during the last 44 years, around 726,000 Palestinian men, women and children have been prosecuted and detained under these emergency laws. In the past 11 years alone, around 7,500 children, some as young as 12 years, are estimated to have been detained, interrogated, and imprisoned within this system. This averages out at between 500-700 children per year, or nearly two children, each and every day.

According to the report, 95 percent of the children interviewed stated that their hands had been tied during interrogation, 90 percent had been blindfolded, 75 percent reported physical violence used against them, 33 percent had been strip-searched, and 29 stated they had been shown and/or forced to sign documents — including confessions — written in Hebrew, with no translation or translators available.

12 percent of the children had been put into solitary confinement.

DCI-Palestine also reported that majority (60 percent) of Palestinian children testified that they had been arrested by heavily-armed Israeli forces who snatched them from their homes between midnight and 5am, and then taken to an “unknown location for interrogation.”
