81,000 euros in two years? Presumably he's going to try to bury that under travel from Bantry to Dublin.

I wonder whether it would be possible to check what mileage he has claimed for driving and whether he is claiming some other travel expenses at the same time. Thats a hell of a lot of money on exes.

Wouldn't mind seeing a breakdown of that lot.

Could have chosen a better name for the little boat. 'Serendipity' indeed ... I know Baltimore quite well and I'm puzzled as to how someone can hit two vessels- one hard enough to write off an RIB and to cause 24,000 euro damage to another vessel?

This'll be an interesting one if it comes to court although I suspect Callely will pay up to prevent it being reported.

What I'd be curious about is when the Gardai attended and whether they took any breath tests.

Callely may have been distracted that evening given that he had a guest on board:

Callelly is in a lot of trouble after yesterday's display of brass neck.

His position, which is looking shaky, will be discussed in an Oireachtas Committee today. Live streaming available, maybe ?

He could conceivably have been holding a clinic for one of his west Cork constituents aboard his floating office at the time.

I note John O'Donoghue and his missus have yet to pay back the public money they
    owe.

    Citizen complains about Callely's expenses - http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/0603/callelyi.html

He'll be gone by tomorrow. But of course, no paying back etc.

Heard the citizen - he first reported at Callelly's local Guard Station and then to the Clerk of the Seanad under Section 8 of the 1993 Ethics Act. No reply as yet.

The word "fraud" was used in the Senate today... there was a request to withdraw.

There might be live streaming here -

He represented that particular breed of what was bad about FF in a long line of history as regards to 'free' money without working hard for it. It left me in a bad taste re his variety of claims as he did a 'David Drumm' style by transferring all of his 4 or 7 properties to his wife's name.

RTE 9 news says that FF are to remove the party whip from Callely at the next meeting of the parliamentary party possibly next week.
