Why is the Costa del Sol a complete haven for Irish drug lords?

Is there any law down there?

The local economy there would collapse if there was a clampdown it has been said. It is a haven for drug lords from everywhere not just Ireland.

Not that safe a haven for Irish gangland emigrants:

In a military sense they took out the brains of the outfit. [literally] They got who they wanted.

And everyone is happy with that arrangement?

Is it like Cuba in the 50s for the US mafia?

Gardai were a few days late

A special policing plan involving armed gardai will be put in place next weekend in the capital when members of the Christy Kinahan cartel are expected to be out in force for two boxing events.

Garda management are concerned that the bouts, which take place at the National Stadium and a venue in Clondalkin next Friday and Saturday, could lead to assassination attempts.

Fascinating then that Jamie was present at the scene of this apparent strike against the Kinahans.
Sam, I'm "totally in awe" and then some, of your familiarity and interest in Dublin low life.

They should just let them kill each other, and then lock the survivors up for murder.

On the face of it, that looks like what's happening. Except, it seems one gang faction is the bolder and harder hitting. In D.Cons link we see a forewarning of potential serious violence with intel giving a precise location. One would expect the police to have had something in place to thwart any such armed attack.

So strange to proceed with an attack if you knew the cops were expecting it. Like i said, one faction is bolder. Or as the Counts signature states... Quote.''As a general rule the most successful man in life is the man who has the best information.''

I wonder what odds the bookies were giving on the boxing match being cancelled?

Could the Gardai really be that thick that they would prepare for a possible assassination attempt at the boxing event but overlook the weigh-in? I seems on the face of it much easier to shoot someone in a small crowd in a hotel reception room than in the middle of the National Stadium ...

Not just prepare but announce in a national newspaper
