Default Direct Action @ Niall O'Brollichain's Constituency Office

Rejected by the electorate twice, but awarded a seat in the senate by Biffo/Gormless.

Nice to see citizens taking action against a man they rejected yet still manages to get himself a job which will get him aprox €100k.

As a senator does not have a constituency, how does this man have a constituency office?

I don't condone such action (and it'll be taxpayer's money that will be cleaning it up) but considering the state the country is in and the anger that's out there, I reckon that its a fairly mild message to those in Govt.

The anger is certainly building up alright. Country wide also.

Worst part about the GP leadership is that they have managed to turn 'green' into a dirty word. Plenty of good common sense ideas are now dismissed out of hand because they're part of a 'green agenda'. Was it on Ocean Frog's blog that the Irish greens were described by UK greens as the 'pariahs of Europe' amongst the wider movement?

Yup, the Irish Greens are now laughed at thanks to Gormless's thirst for power.

    I condone it.
It's similar to the treatment dealt out by the Land League, and supported by Parnell.
We need more of it. Shun them wherever they go.
Let them taste and feel the anger.

I actually don't condone it,simply because the people involved will be accused of being nothing but thugs and/or vandals when the reality is that these are the actions of angry citizens.

I think anyone who puts this down to mindless thuggery is a simplistic fool.
Those angry citizens you refer to have no voice. Not in the Dail, not in the Senate, not in Phoenix Park, and not in the media.
When you're voice is ignored, you have to make it heard.

I totally agree with you,but mindless thuggery is how it will be spune, just like the fire bombing of the Department of Finance(although that is borderline extremism) or like the media spin on the recent marches, simply associate thuggish behavior or acts of vandalism with a legitimate cause in an attempt to diminish the causes validity, these are old but very effective tactics of stamping out dissent.

O'Brollichain is not the worst of the the current Govt yet seems to be the only one Targetted. He is the Public face of the Greens foray into Animal rights, I remember him on the Frontline talking about Dogs not too long ago. He may have drawn the Ire of some sort Rural groups, hence the Paint.

    Just a thought.
The first robot president won by exactly one vote. Ah, yes! John Quincy Adding Machine. He struck a chord with the voters when he pledged not to go on a killing spree. But, like most politicians he promised more than he could deliver.

O Brolachain was rejected at last general election, at last local elections, and said he was leaving politics. And then he is rescued in a deal to keep greens on board, he was given an unelected job of senator, like Deery from Louth. Sham politics

Jobs for the boys, mates, partners, family, relations, distant relations, grand parents.... and on it goes. FF and Greens bring the words looking after number one to a different level.

Gormley promised to end jobs for the boys. Then he goes and does the opposite.

The sooner the country is rid of this evil man the better.
