Default White Supremacy Is an International Terrorist Threat

Charles P. Pierce has been a working journalist since 1976. He is the author of four books, most recently "Idiot America". He lives near Boston with his wife.

The following are excerpts from his March 15, 2019 article headlined "The New Zealand Attack Is Proof That White Supremacy Is an International Terrorist Threat" with the subheading "It stretches from Christchurch to Pittsburgh and extends out in every direction."

There is now little doubt that white supremacy is an international terrorist threat stretching from Christchurch to Pittsburgh and extending out in every direction...That one of those auxiliaries cites both a Norwegian mass murderer and the President* of the United States as inspiration for killing 49 people is not only evidence of the width of the threat, but also the depth of its commitment to the cause. This is the everyday al Qaeda of the angry white soul, and it's growing.
Donald Trump's infamous Hitler-style rabble-rousing chants: "Lock her up! Lock her up!"

"What happens when you're confronted with a politician (Trump) who is utterly without shame? You can reveal where he's lied, explain all the facts, and try as hard as you can to inoculate the public against his falsehoods. But by the time you've done that, he has already told 10 more lies." -- Paul Waldman

Default Re: White Supremacy Is an International Terrorist Threat

How many millions of civilians have died in the Middle East as a result of US and allied bombing and military action ? and their 'paramilitaries' ? It's not only 'lone wolves' doing the killing. State forces do most of it. The reason people worry about this so much is that it is coming to 'our' peaceful streets and threatens to rock peaceful lives.

There needs to be protection for the mosques and for other targets, by those opposed to the far right.
