Default Did CIA Attack NK Embassy in Madrid

    FYI:

Report: North Korea Embassy attackers had CIA links
10 attackers break into the North Korean Embassy. They tie up the staff, beating and interrogating them in the process.

    • One woman escapes and calls for help, but when police arrive on the scene an Asian man answers the door and calmly tells them all is well.
    • Minutes later, the assailants drive off in diplomatic vehicles, taking computers and other devices with them. The cars are soon found, abandoned. The attackers have vanished.

That’s what happened in Madrid on Feb. 22, just days before the summit between Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump, according a report from El Confidencial (Spanish). Now, El Pais reports that police have linked two of the embassy attackers to the CIA, based on surveillance footage.
The backdrop: El Pais cites “sources” who speculate the goal of the attack was to gain intelligence on North Korea’s former ambassador to Spain, Kim Hyok Chol. He's now playing a leading role in nuclear negotiations with the U.S.
My thought bubble: This is an explosive story. We haven’t confirmed any of it. To be honest, I don’t know what to make of it. But having skipped it when it first bubbled up, the latest twist seems too significant to ignore.

From the agency that tried to kill Castro with exploding cigars ? Why not.

Count Bob has joined the ranks of conspiracy theorists?

Provide your evidence that the event didn't happen, and if you can't do that, then your evidence that the CIA wasn't involved. The link demonstrates that Spain's premier newspaper considers it worthwhile to cover. BBC and WaPo have also covered it. Feel stupid now?

Apparently the CIA were not the lead org. It was these boys, Cheollima Civil Defense, led by the son of Kim's half brother what got rubbed out by two women in an airport....

It is interesting - not new practice from either the CIA or it's allied 'dissident organisations seeking to overthrow'. whichever state it is this week. Every State bugs the people involved in key inter-state negotiations.

Back in the day when there were such things as State telecoms, and Unions of telecom workers in them, it was not unusual for the underdogs (aka former colonial countries / colonial countries) to invite telecoms workers in to do very effective sweeps of the bugged buildings and clean out the US/British/French bugs.

The difference is that it is far more overt in these cases - as per the "Russian toxins" incidents - and presumably designed to pressurise the other negotiating party by a show of strength/capacity as much as to covertly spy or bug.

Not the CIA, not Cheollima Civil Defense....

SPY GAMES -- "U.S. authorities make first arrest in mysterious raid of North Korea's Embassy in Spain," by WaPo's John Hudson: "U.S. authorities have made the first arrest related to the mysterious raid of North Korea's Embassy in Spain in which masked assailants tied up staff, stole computers and fled to the United States, according to two people familiar with the matter. On Thursday, federal authorities arrested Christopher Ahn, a former U.S. Marine and a member of Free Joseon, a group dedicated to the overthrow of North Korea's Kim Dynasty.
"He appeared in a federal-district court in Los Angeles on Friday where his attorney requested that the case be sealed. The court ruled in the attorney's favor over the government's objections, a Justice Department spokesman said. Separately, federal agents raided the apartment of Adrian Hong, the leader of Free Joseon, said people familiar with the incident." WaPo

Having cases sealed is not all that unusual. Most of the 14 cases Mueller handed off to other prosecutors are still sealed. What's unusual here, is that the govt. which is normally the party seeking seal, ( to preserve sources & methods etc.) is on the other side.
