Default France to act on plastic packaging

The French government plan to introduce penalties that will mean that food items that are packaged in non-recycled plastics will cost more in shops. They're also planning a returnable deposit-refund plastic bottles. It seems likely that the move is in response to a wave of 'plastic attacks' in the country, with people dumping the plastic packaging from their purchases outside shops. If so, it's good to see direct consumer action having an impact.

Personally, I'd love to see a return of the good old glass bottle, reusable and more easily recyclable when needed. Those of you old enough to remember taking the TK or C&C bottles back to the shop and getting sweets or chocolate with the refunded deposit will know what I mean.
