    The backlash continues........

    Electric scooters are now officially banned in Norfolk
    Norfolk, Virginia is latest US city to prohibit electric scooters. Since scooter operator Bird came to the city earlier this year without notifying public officials, 560 scooters have been impounded and the company owes the city over $93,000 in fines. (Luz Lazo / Post)

    Despite restrictions, dockless bike and scooter applications are surging

    Twelve dockless bike and scooter operators applied to run in DC in 2019
    The applicants include existing companies like Bird and Jump, and new-to-DC ones like Razor and HOPR/CycleHop. The District Department of Transportation will review the permits by January 1, and could approve running 6,600 scooters and 3,000 dockless bikes on the city streets. (Max Smith / WTOP)
