The election is about marketing the perception of a president rather than a president. That music appeals to something deep within the Irish psyche more than Mouldy Miggledy and his crap "poems".

Gemma O'Doherty has announced that she is seeking to run for president.

Now she would definitely not do things as per usual.

Hmm. She has justified grievances in relation to how she was treated, but has gone too far with her conspiracy theories in recent years.

Her insinuation that a garda was the killer of Sophie Toscain-du Plantier is a conspiracy theory.

Someone seems to have put the fear of GO'D into Higgins and the Labourites. This has gone from a stitch-up by FF/FG to an open race. If Gallagher enters and SF nominate a good candidate, it would not be surprising to see Higgins find some reason to retire.

Looks like the Labour/virtue signalling mob is trying to tear GO'D apart. The spat between Kitty Holland and herself is entertaining. It also looks like Gallagher may be about to get into the race. RTE was reporting that he'd be meeting the Meath county council on Monday with "other" candidates. No official announcement yet.

Is there any evidence any of the others would? I know very little about them tbh.

Duffy seems a blue shirt type.

I think it's no harm to have someone as head of state with close family connections to the wars I mentioned leading the commemorations.
