I don't seem to see the eifel tower etc etc lit up for Egypt. I wonder why?

Absolutely, and had that imaginary gun fire in the London underground been real then Egypt would have slipped down the news headlines.

Now that they've lost their caliphate, this may be the new face of ISIS.

Death toll now officially 305. RIP.

Survivors say attackers were flying ISIS flags.

The Mosque was a Sufi branch of Islam mosque. Sufism together with Ahmaddiyya are just two of the many branches of Islam along with every branch of everything else that the ISIS type of Islam hold a murderous hatred for.

When you hear a rational and reasonable Muslim spokesperson in Ireland the chances are they are Ahmaddiyya, and for their reasonableness they are persecuted.

Egyptian Air-force striking targets in retaliation. Lets hope they have good intelligence and are not adding to the numbers of innocent victims.

Hard to know how to comment, except to say horrible . Worse stuff has been all but ignored sadly, like the alleged up to 6 million killed in the Congo wars of the 00s . A big section of our own population dont even care about the homeless crisis or are stuck in past quarells , not to mention all the other issues . Is there a practical way to combat islamo-fascism here without feeding into islamo-phobia?

Probably wasn't covered at all by the European media as it doesn't feed into the racist narrative most of the EU has in store for Arabs.

The Polish media DID cover it for about 2 days. At least on the radio and in some of the papers. I don't monitor local TV much. Ironic considering the caricatures drawn of Poland recently that the Polish media covered this story more than the German/French media.

Over 50 nationalities in my current office-no Egyptians that I know of but plenty of Tunisians and Algerians. Some of them are convinced Egypt will end up like Libya.

That may be true of the more gutter media but that story is too big and too near to ignore
    Guardian has several https://www.theguardian.com/world/egypt
Le Monde at least 2 http://www.lemonde.fr/afrique/articl...=egypte&xtcr=1
    Spiegel too http://www.spiegel.de/thema/aegypten/
