The longest day of the year and in Ireland, looks like it will be a sunny evening.
We are so lucky having these long summer evenings - it's lights out at 6 on the Med.
Is this in any way celebrated where you live ?

Midsummer's eve does not seem to be a huge thing in Ireland - Samhain, Imbolc, Bealtaine and Lughnasa seem to be the feasts that matter.

They are known as the ''cross quarter days' Between them we have Solstices and Equinox [two of each/quarter days] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_of_the_Year
That wheel of the year has eight points. There's another point in the cycle of the year that comes between Summer solstice and the Autumn Equinox, that being the ascension of Sirius. Visable on our Southern hemisphere for @ 70 days, it is at it's midway point before it descends again that is lored throughout many cultures throughout history to be the gateway to the abyss.
With the appliance of maths it is possible to map the location of Sirius when out of view and joining the dots a perfectly symmetrical oblong shape in the sky can be formed using Earth, Sirius and two other heavenly bodies. That is eternal @ three other dates in the year relevant to the ascension of Sirius beginning Summer Solstice morning.
So, what you end up with is 12 points to your wheel.
Christianity dates feast days close to or on cross quarter days. In Druid practice they are the safe moons [lunar cycle either side of specific date] On the others....all hell is let loose.
