2020 WATCH -- "Avenatti would base his 2020 campaign in St. Louis," by Natasha Korecki: "He hasn't decided yet if he's running for president, but Michael Avenatti has already made a strategic 2020 decision. The attorney will base his national presidential campaign headquarters in St. Louis should he launch a White House bid, he told POLITICO on Sunday. ... He believes he'll be the first presidential candidate to headquarter in St. Louis since Dick Gephardt's 1988 presidential run (Gephardt's 2004 campaign was based in D.C.)." POLITICO

pretty sure Avenatti has decided he wants to run for Prez .. he is waiting to see if he will get the support of the old guard, the DNC etc ..

he figured out how to neutralize the ignoramus, by punching the scumbag in the face non stop and making no apologies for it.. in trump world a man that apologizes is weak and if you'r weak you lose... well Avenatti has been winning by punching the old man where it hurts most

2020 WATCH -- "Hickenlooper moves closer to 2020 presidential bid," by David Siders in San Francisco: "Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper is edging closer to a potential run for president, following what he called an 'encouraging' summer mulling a campaign. 'What I saw was an interest ... a genuine interest in terms of what we've done in Colorado,' Hickenlooper told POLITICO late Thursday.

"Hickenlooper, one of several current and former Democratic governors considering running in 2020, said he has not yet made a decision about the race. But in a sign that his political operation is ramping up, he will travel to the Southeast this month to help the campaigns of Democratic gubernatorial candidates Andrew Gillum in Florida and Stacey Abrams in Georgia.

"If he runs, Hickenlooper, a former pub owner and Denver mayor, would start with a relatively low profile. But many other prospective candidates — especially from outside Washington — will face a similar challenge, and Hickenlooper suggested it is not insurmountable." POLITICO

Ramping up the pressure on Elizabeth Warren who's been keeping her counsel.............There isn't room for both of them.......

Sanders allies expect him to make second White House bid
Allies to Bernie Sanders say the Vermont Independent senator is increasingly likely to make a second bid for the White House in 2020 — once again as a Democrat.

Sanders allies increasingly talk more confidently about the likelihood of a second presidential bid. Just a few months ago, the allies were more careful about his potential candidacy.

"HUGE lesson for Dems in 2020 from the primary results," Josh Kraushaar, National Journal's politics editor, tweets this morning:

    • There's a "limited audience for a white progressive (like Warren/Sanders) outside of a narrow ideologically-driven base ... huge opportunity for someone like Kamala Harris to build multi-racial coalition."

Josh elaborates on this dynamic in his "Against the Grain" column, "Identity, Not Ideology, Driving the Democratic Party":
"White progressives badly underachieved in Democratic primaries for governor. African-American progressives dominated."
"Warren ... faces similar obstacles as her like-minded white progressive counterparts in the states. There’s a long history in Democratic presidential primaries of the so-called 'wine-track' candidates — Howard Dean, Bill Bradley, Gary Hart among them — generating early hype but underachieving because they failed to win support from non-white voters. Bernie Sanders had a similar problem in 2016."

He'll likely have my vote if he does........

The New York Times reported that Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City who was first elected to that office as a Republican, might run for president in 2020 as a Democrat.

2020 WATCH ... DES MOINES REGISTER'S BRIANNE PFANNENSTIEL: "Exclusive: Iowa TVs already tuned to 2020 as early presidential ads sweep into the state": "High-profile presidential contenders may be playing coy with Iowans, but televisions in the first-in-the-nation caucus state are already tuned to 2020.

"According to an exclusive Des Moines Register analysis of data from Kantar Media, more than 10,500 television ads related to the 2020 presidential elections have already aired on broadcast and cable channels across the United States this year. More than half of those ads have been on Iowa television channels.

"Nearly all of the ads come from two Democrats : U.S. Rep. John Delaney of Maryland, who has announced a run in 2020, as well as California billionaire Tom Steyer, who says he's focused on 2018 but has directed 90 percent of his groups' television advertising toward Iowa and other early-voting states.

"With or without Steyer's advertising, that's a dramatic shift from 2014. Like this one, that year was two years before the presidential election, but just two ads focused on the 2016 presidential election were broadcast a total of nine times in Iowa." Des Moines Register

A really good mate of mine from my previous work is called John Delaney...it'd be a bit of fun for us if that lad won, unlikely as it is.
